What is CORE?

CORE is a leadership team for our student ministry that gives students the opportunity to grow in their Christian leadership skills while shaping and taking ownership of the student ministry.

CORE is a 12-month commitment that runs from the beginning of one school year (August) through the end of the next summer (July).

A member of CORE from one year CAN be a member in a following year, however, it is not guaranteed and students must reapply.

Any student that meets the qualifications and applies will be reviewed and interviewed, and it is our hope that every Christ-following student in our ministry will consider CORE as an opportunity to both grow and contribute to the Kingdom.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be a student entering 8th - 12th grade

  • Have a growing relationship with Jesus

  • Be connected in community and member at FBC Conroe

  • Be serving as a member of SWAG

Expectations

Each member of CORE will:

  • Attend non-negotiable CORE retreat

  • Attend non-negotiable CORE meetings

  • Maintain a strong attendance in Life Group and FC

  • Remain in good standing with SWAG

  • Influence others by being a servant leader
